I love the IKEA set, but needed some more recolors of the Ektorp Sofa. I made seven recolors in various modern and contemporary patterns with one brown linen recolor thrown in as well.

Prospect Reduex

I liked the Prospect for Dee by Sims Urbania, but wasn't a fan of the multilevel ground floor apartment, so I redid the complex with a few changes.

The complex has a grunge vibe with hints of a bygone era of glamour to the apartments, but now time has caused its damage.

The complex has four apartments in different styles


The basement apartment is home to the resident rock-star wannabe bachelor. He dreams of stardom on the stage, but in reality spends his days doing landscaping with the occasionally side job of tending to the lady needs of some of the homes he is in charge of.



Animal prints galore and mirrors to open up the space and reflect light since there are no windows in the basement.


Check out the mirrors in the "love room" as he calls it ;)


Thr ground floor apartment is home to a psuedo single father and his twin sons. Mom is spending an extended holiday in the county jail thanks to "borrowing" money from her boss at the record store.



Dad works as a server at Mama's Diner and pulls a second shift as a janitor at a private school, which enables him to enroll the boys there for free tuition.



Every Saturday morning, they have pancakes and eat in front of the TV watching cartoons and morning football.


The boys are seven years old and still love cartoons and sports. Dad was lucky enough to sign them both up for the neighborhood soccor league and have thier equiptment donated.


The second floor apartment is home to a world traveler and current pyshic phone friend.

When not on the phone guiding sims about future decisions, she is hitting the thrift stores for great one of a kind finds.

So far she has been able to use her savings to travel to thirteen countries and

bring back souveniors. This is possible thanks to a strudy bookbag, popup tent and fast legs.


She is content with her wandering life and doesn't mind having to quit each job whenever she is ready to travel.


The top floor apartment is home to two sisters who moved to the big city from the country

The sisters have many touches of home to comfort them and sometimes just looking at mama's quilt is enough to bring back smells of fresh lard on the stove and the sounds of crickets in the nighttime air...instead of car horns and factory smoke.



They have thier own dreams, big sister wants to be a famous movie actress and is passing the time with selling ties until a famous director comes across her path.


Little sister, the more practical of the two, cleans homes as she experiments with flower arranging. Her goal is to attend the local technical university and one day work at a florist shop.

Until thier dreams come true, they are content with thier little slice of the city.

New Year & Cleaning Up

Just a quick note on the status of the download blog and some of my goals for 2011.

Poll Results: Thanks to the people who voted. I will continue to make apartment lots available as well as more community lots. Those looking for community lots are in luck, since my playing hood is going through a revival of sorts and is in desperate need of new community lots. I'll pass on the goodies to you of course.

Cleaned Up Lots: I figured out how to use clean installer to remove items from prior lots. As a result, I'm doing some cleaning up of the downloads and removing hacks and unnecessary files from my previously offered lots. Just check the downloads for a "cleaned" version of the lot. There will be some custom content that I thought was necessary for the lot and I'll try to make note of such items, so still use clean installer when downloading into your game. Clean Installer is the best device to pick and chose what you want in your game, from the empty shell of the building, to all the bits and pieces.

Coming Up Next: There is a new page in the sidebar, In Progress. If you're interested in what is coming soon, visit that page. It's constantly changing and my goal will be to update it once a month.

Maxis Only Lots: The goal for this year is to offer more lots with strictly maxis content, meaning no recolors allowed. You'll be able to see this firsthand with the Grayson Hill Brownstones.

Update Schedule: To provide some consistency, I will try to update the blog twice a month. I recommend becoming a follower so that way you are notified when a new download is available.

New Photos: I will be working on creating better photo shoots of clothing and objects. Don't be surprised if you get an email from me asking for advice on making better photos of the items.

Custom Lots: If you desire a custom lot for your hood, send me an email starrsim at yahoo dot com and I'll see if I can help you. Seeing my lots in your game is a joy and if there is a need in your hood that I could help with, let me know. On that note, for those that maintain a blog, do not be surprised if you find a lot inspired by one of your simmies or your neighborhood available for download.

18th Street Apartments

18th St Apts is a 1x3 lot with lots of amenities.

Apple Valley Academy

The newly renovated Apple Valley Academy is complete and ready for it's close-up. The school sits on the largest allowed piece of property (3x3) in the county and has a third level that is currently storage, but can be expanded if the need arises.

The first level features the principal's office, art classroom, music classroom, auditorium, library and cafeteria. Outside there is plenty of space on the playground, basketball court and school garden to relax and enjoy the crisp days of fall.

Antonio Herendez volunteers once a week to teach students the basics of art appreciation,

while Nicole Humphrey works part-time teaching music, or torturing her ears, depending on the student.

The cafeteria is stocked with healthy eating options such as mac and cheese, vending machines and the addictive coffee.

The library has a bank of computers as well as an ever growing book collection for student research.

Benjamin Endeavor leads an outdoor physical education class part-time whenever the weather is nice, otherwise the class is moved indoors,

much to the dispair of the secondary students who hoped to see Benjamin without his shirt once more. Students also enjoy the outdoor garden and fish pond.

The second level contains the dance room (and indoor physical education room), technical arts room, secondary classroom (6-12); lower primary classroom (K-2) and upper primary classroom (3-5).

Ilila Peterson manages to keep her students seated and focused as they compare their reading materials. Her classroom contains most of her travel momentos,

classroom fish tank (that the secondary students love) and bright, cheerful paintings.

Jasmine Frankson perfers a more laid back teaching style for her students as she allows them to explore the delights of thier surroundings. The students are surrounded with a classroom wombat, plant station, activity table, large table for reading and writing and plenty of floor space for fun and games.

Jesse Kent is just glad that he doesn't have to deal with taunts of "booger face" though he now has to try to teach his students the strange world of algebra. When students are not glued to their seats wishing for lunchtime, they can be found exploring the bookcase full of magazines and university information in the back.

Susie MacAstral doesn't have that problem with her dance class

her students are usually very dedicated,

nor do the students complain when it's their turn in the techincal arts room. Harriet and Henry work hard on their respective crafts while ignoring each other as siblings often do.
